Lebanon, Republiktimes.com – Serangan udara Israel di Gaza terjadi lagi, meskipun baru beberapa jam lalu Israel telah sepakat dengan Hamas untuk memulai gencatan senjata. Menurut laporan AFP, serangan tersebut menewaskan 20 orang.
Mahmud Bassal, juru bicara Badan Pertahanan Sipil Gaza, mengungkapkan kepada AFP bahwa serangan itu tidak berhenti meskipun pengumuman gencatan senjata telah dibuat. Bassal menjelaskan bahwa serangan tersebut berlangsung beberapa kali, dengan 18 orang di antaranya tewas di kota Gaza.
Sebelumnya, Perdana Menteri Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani mengumumkan bahwa Israel dan Hamas sepakat untuk gencatan senjata, yang akan mulai berlaku pada Minggu (19/1).
Gencatan senjata ini akan dilaksanakan dalam beberapa tahap. Tahap pertama akan berlaku selama 42 hari dan mencakup kesepakatan pemulangan 33 tahanan Israel, yang terdiri dari perempuan, anak-anak, orang tua, dan orang sakit.[]
