Yogyakarta, Republiktimes – Edo Segara Gustanto, akademisi dari Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) menilai bahwa anggaran besar untuk pembangunan Ibu Kota Negara (IKN) sebaiknya dialokasikan untuk program yang lebih bermanfaat langsung bagi masyarakat, seperti Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG). Menurutnya, program ini lebih relevan untuk mengatasi tantangan nasional, khususnya di bidang kesehatan dan kesejahteraan rakyat.
Edo Segara Gustanto, yang juga Peneliti Pusat Kajian dan Analisa Ekonomi Nusantara, mengungkapkan bahwa Indonesia masih menghadapi masalah gizi buruk, stunting, dan ketimpangan akses pangan. “Kita tahu IKN membutuhkan dana triliunan, tetapi masalah gizi buruk ini masih menghantui kita. Program Makan Bergizi Gratis untuk rakyat miskin akan menjadi investasi jangka panjang untuk meningkatkan kualitas generasi penerus bangsa,” ujarnya kepada pers di Yogyakarta.
Disinggung oleh Edo, karena visi dan misinya yang kerap menyinggung isu kedaulatan pangan dan kesejahteraan rakyat. “Pak Prabowo punya rekam jejak yang kuat dalam memperjuangkan isu-isu strategis seperti pangan. Sebaiknya Prabowo fokus pada program MBG yang dia usung, itu akan jadi langkah konkret yang membuktikan janjinya terhadap rakyat,” tambahnya.
Wacana ini mendapat respons beragam dari berbagai pihak. Sebagian mendukung gagasan tersebut, mengingat angka stunting di Indonesia yang masih mencapai 21,6% pada tahun 2024, menurut data Kementerian Kesehatan. Sementara itu, pihak lain menyebut bahwa pembangunan IKN tetap penting untuk pemerataan pembangunan.
“Fokus pada pemenuhan kebutuhan dasar seperti gizi dan kesehatan akan berdampak langsung pada penguatan sumber daya manusia Indonesia,” tegas Edo. Ia pun mendorong agar pemerintah menjadikan program-program berbasis kebutuhan dasar sebagai prioritas utama.[]
